Elämys’ PCO services include every element a successful congress requires, just the scientific content must come from the organizing committee. The Nordic Midwives Congress, NJF, is held every three years, and we had the pleasure to be the PCO for the most recent edition, organized in Helsinki, in early May 4th – 6th 2022 by the Federation of Finnish Midwives.
Elämys was selected as the event’s PCO partner already in late 2018, just before the Covid- 19 hit the world. Like all the PCOs are aware, the pandemic caused many challenges to overcome, and plenty of questions were out in the air when organizing events. The conference preparations were on hold for quite some time, but regular contact was maintained with the organizers to make sure that both parties were always updated on current situations. In challenging times like this, the role of a local partner became even more significant.
After the global challenges, we can’t be prouder of our team and great collaboration with the NJF organizer, The Federation of Finnish Midwives. Together we managed to execute a successful three-day Congress for more than 500 international delegates.
PCO Services
Elämys provides conference organizers each element required. In the case of NJF Congress, we were assisting in venue selection, graphic and web design as well as maintaining the website, registration and customer service, pricing, invoicing, event production, and sponsor and exhibitor management to name a few. Our PCO services also include offering technological solutions for abstract management and conference apps, but this time it was decided to go the traditional way. Our professional team with multiple backgrounds and expertise supported the conference organizers in all needs and made sure that every aspect of the event was taken care of.
Venues and social program for NJF Congress
NJF Congress 2022 was held in Scandic Marina Congress Center right by the sea in the idyllic Katajanokka district, only a few minutes’ walk from the Market Square and Helsinki city centre. The venue fits perfectly for this size of conferences and events with several conference halls with modern technology, an outdoor terrace with a stunning view to the Baltic Sea and the vibrant city of Helsinki, an on-site hotel and a great location allowing international delegates easily explore Finland’s beautiful capital. The venue’s catering serves locally produced delicious dishes and snacks. All this not forgetting to consider the sustainability aspects like recycling and reducing waste.
No matter how scientific the conference program is, the conference’s social program is always important, as well. That’s the moment when delegates can meet and network with their peers and enjoy the destination. It’s also the part of the congress when the destination can easily be showcased even in a short time bringing some local elements to the program. Elämys assisted the Organizing committee to select a beautiful venue and some entertainment for the Conference dinner. The Federation of Finnish Midwives did a great job planning the decorations and finalizing the program by themselves, our job was just to check that all the details were noted. The theme of the dinner: the Baltic sea was well visible in the decorations and menu content.
The three days of NJF Congress 2022 were filled with interesting content, workshops, presentations, posters and exhibitions. We truly appreciate our collaboration with the Federation of Finnish Midwives, and we are delighted to see that the live events are coming back after the pandemic.
